Hi Folks

I am searching for the parents of James Wise b 1781 SC or VA who married
Parmelia (Milly) Miller abt 1807 in probably Marion Co, SC. Parmelia Miller
(1793-1868) had a brother John Walker Miller (1807-1878) mar Samantha Payne
in Marion Co. James was in Marion Co in 1810 and had relocated to Claiborne
Parish, LA by 1850. John Walker Miller relocated to Wayne Co MS in the spring
of 1852 and his son continued to Claiborne Parish, LA.

The Wise side is a little more complicated.
1. James may have been a relative of Ambrose Wise from Marion Co who died
before or c1829. The name Ambrose continues in the family.
2. From the book -- "History of the Wise and Wyse Family of South Carolina"
by Frederick Calhoun Wyse pub 1944 we have a reference to Wises who migrated
from Horry County, SC to the northern area of LA. It also suggest possible
links to Wises from VA. Marion Co is next to Horry Co, site of descendants of
Major Samuel Wise (Rev War). I know nothing about this family.
3. Family Legend - This I found on the internet.
James Wise left Virginia because he displeased his father by refusing to marry
a cousin chosen for him and also because he didn't get along well with the
children, called the "Cropper Wises", of his father's second wife.

I am interested in information about any Wise family in Marion or Horry before
1810 and Millers in Marion.
