Renewing my request for any help finding the parents and grandparents of
Elizabeth Steele (b. 1800, S.C.?), wife of James Thomas (b.
Oct.14,1790,S.C.). Both died in Florence Co., S.C.

James' parents were Stephen Thomas (b. Md.?)and Susannah Benton (b. Va?).

Stephen Thomas said to be grandson of Tristram (Tristum?) Thomas, who
immigrated to Maryland from Wales(on, or before 1769) .Some of of his family
remained in Md., while others moved to Pa., Va., N.C., and S.C.

Need to learn who was father of Stephen and son of Tristram to tie things
up. Immigrant, Tristram may be related to Gen. Tristram Thomas,
Revolutionary officer.

I have some considerable data on later lines of this family in S.C. if
anyone is interested.
