Does anyone have info on a some sort of Germap POW camp in the county? I was looking at my fathers HS Reunion book (Loris HS, 1944) and two people wrote of a German man escaping from this camp, impersonating a woman and being a substitute teacher.

I'm not sure whether there is any truth in it, or if it is an old wives tale.
