Sonja,
I have the following gleaning of an obituary from the Field and Herald
Lillian Cannon James of Yauhannah d. January 17, 1970 and was buried
January 19, 1970 at Pawley Swamp. She was raised by Redden and Winnie
Cannon. She was married to Joseph Malcolm James. Surviving are six sons:
Joseph Edward James, Robert W. James, Olin D. James, Dale E. "Hank" James,
Harold H. James, Weston Earl James. Two daughters: Mrs. Enawood J. Butts,
Mrs. Joe Inman. One sister Mrs. B.F. Melton of Gresham.
Joseph Malcolm James was a cousin of the lady that used to own the farm we
now own and this lady (Louise Todd Martin) was a cousin and was married to
a cousin of mine.
Joseph Malcolm James was the son of Joseph Edward and Mary Todd James.
Joseph Edward and Mary Todd James are buried at Cedar Grove. I know Ruby
Campbell could tell you about Joseph Edward James (I don't have the info
handy). Mary Todd James was the daughter of John A. "Jack" Todd and Mary
Louise Beaty Todd. I think he is a brother to Benjamin Franklin Todd who
married Annie Larrimore. Anyway Mary Louise Beaty Todd was the daughter of
James and Margaret "Peggy" Sessions Beaty. James Beaty ties into the Beatys
of Kingston family.
If you need me to I can look up the James family too and I can give more
specific info on all of the above mentioned.
