HI and what years are these census available for?
I Have Joshua BLANTON Sr died in 1841, Horry CO SC, and his wife, Keziah
ALDERMAN BLANTON died in ? I know she died after Joshua.
Also looking for Christian BLANTON STROUD death info. She would have died
after 1850 as she is listed on the 1850 Horry CO SC census record along with
her husband Meady STROUD. She was listed as 51. I couldn't find her on the
1860 census record.

<< Sandra,

Thanks you so much for this information. I have used the death records of
SC
for over 30 years.......back when they were $3 but I drew the line at $!0
and
now I see they are $12 and you don't get your money back if they don't find
the person. (I was told this). I now live in GA and it is the same here
but
they do have the index only for public view. If you go to the courthouse of
the deceased and ask the Clerk nicely they will sometimes look for a
specific
item. But this is usually the smaller counties. NC is my home state and I
got spoiled at being able to take a long list in and leisurely check the
actual certificates. As a matter of fact, I bought the microfilm for one
county. Things do change.

Now I will go back and memorize that code. And is this index only at the
archives? Do you know if the LDS has microfilmed the indexes for South
Carolina?

Sorry for so many questions but I am delighted to learn this. Thanks again.
