CONWAY - Hazel Holmes Carroll, 86, of Eula Drive, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Conway Nursing Center after an illness.

She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Dillon Thomas Holmes Sr. and Booty Boyd Holmes.

She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Wendell Carroll and his wife, Eliza, of Conway; a grandson, Dr. Patrick Carroll of Baltimore; a half-brother, Robert Holmes of Conway; a half-sister, Jeanette Todd of Conway; a brother-in-law, Daniel James "DJ" Carroll of Myrtle Beach; two sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Holmes of Leavenworth, Kan., and Leitha Gilmore of Myrtle Beach; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers, William Henry Holmes, John Greston Holmes, Dillon Thomas Holmes Jr. and Mason Delaney Holmes.

The funeral will be will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The Rev. Billy Hackett will officiate. Burial will be in in Hillcrest Cemetery.
