I.P. SHELLEY , OF TABOR CITY DIES

I.P. Shelley , Prominent Merchant And Farmer , Passed Away In Wilmington
Hospital On Tuesday Night;
Funeral Yesterday

TABOR CITY, Oct. 8 - I.P. Shelley , 65 , member of the Tabor City commission
and a prominent merchant and farmer here, died Tuesday Tuesday night at 8
o'clock in a Wilmington hospital . Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3
p.m. at the home with Rev. Winfred Davis and Rev. N.P. Edens in charge.
Interment Followed in Myrtle Green cemetery. Surviving Mr. Shelley are two
sisters, Mrs. R. M. Hardee of Laurinburg and Mrs. D. L. Faircloth , of
Lumberton, and a brother , Hope Shelley , of Tabor City.

At the time of his death, Mr. Shelley was serving his third term as a city
commissioner . He had been in the mercantile business here for 20 years.
Active pallbearers were: Kern Prince, J.P.Brown , R.B. Mallard, Mack Spivey,
Hope Spivey, Orbitt Wright, Hoyt Shelley, and Clayton Spivey. Honorary
pallbearers were: J.L. Lewis, W.F. Cox, J.M. Soles, Bob Garrell, Alton
Garrell, C.C. Soles, Henry Bruton, W. B. Roberts, and Jack McGougan.
