Hi Linda,
Thanks for the info.
If Esther has married, I think she would be in the 1850 census with the rest
of her family.
After reading about a Lucretia BLANTON being a dau of Joshua Sr., I went back
and rechecked the census records and she is not included in this family.
The only way she could be included is if Mary was Lucretia.
Joshua has 2 girls under 10 in the 1820, which would have been Mary and
Elizabeth, his daus by Keziah and one girl 16-20, who must be Christian, his dau by
Mary.
By 1830 Joshua has only 1 F under 5, who is Esther and one of 40 and under
50.(I use to think this was Keziah but new info has come to light that may prove
that Keziah died before Joshua migrated to Horry) It is said that he arrived
in Horry with his step-son Lawson PRIDGEON. If this is correct, Joshua must
have married a widow PRIDGEON. I need some more proof on this.
Elizabeth and Mary must be married at this time; we know Elizabeth married
Josiah HODGES, but I haven't found who Mary married. Christian married Meedy
STROUD and they are listed in the 1850 Horry Co census record. So I am searching
for info on Mary and Esther.
I didn't realize that some of the 1850 Horry CO census record was missing.
This maybe our missing info on these two girls.
Thanks again,

Jeannie,
The copy I have of the 1850 Census for Horry District has some
missing--non-microfilmed pages. It skips from family 65 to family 81. In the family just
before 81 on the top of page 7a there is an R Blanton 16 F (the copy is
terrible but that appears to be what it says), A C. Jernigan, , F; E. I. Jernigan,
, F; ? Jernigan, 8, M; E. Jernigan, 83, F; and Dorcus Foxworth. 60?, F.
I know that Foxworths are tied to our Blantons and wonder about the missing
pages of the Census. Each county is supposed to have a copy of the original
census on file. I wonder if someone physically located in Horry County could
verify that and find out about the missing families?
AS to Esther Blanton b. about 1830, I have her married to Frank Causey per
Danny Blanton and the LDS files. I think that may be incorrect, a different
Esther Blanton, because of the dates on her tombstone in Mount Olive Baptist
Church. I think this Esther is Esther C. Blanton and she was daughter of J. C.
Blanton and Poley A born in SC. E.C. was 2 months old in 1850. J. C. appears to
be about 24 (very hard to read) in 1850,b in NC and his daughter is E. C. The
Frank Causee (Causey) in 1880 is married to Esther C. who is 30 years old.
Sons Alexander, 4, and Daniel Mc, 2/12. Esther C. was born in SC, her father in
NC, and her mother in SC.
More to ponder?

Hi all,
Does anyone know what happened to Esther BLANTON? I couldn't find her on
the
1850 Horry CO SC census record. She was Joshua BLANTON Sr.'s dau. with his
second wife, Keziah and was born about 1830. If anyone has anything on her
that
can be documented, please let me know.
