MYRTLE BEACH | Julius Marvin Furlough, age 71, of Myrtle Beach, died
Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at Conway Medical Center following an illness.
Born Aug. 10, 1934 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., he was the son of the late Jim
Furlough and Eva Mae Causey Furlough Barnes. Mr. Furlough was a retired painter
and was a member of Lakewood Pentecostal Holiness Church in Myrtle Beach. He
was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Hansen and a brother, Albert Furlough.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Sylvia Johnston Furlough; a son,
Charles Furlough and his wife, Marina, of Conway; five daughters, Sandy Franks
and husband, Harry, of North Myrtle Beach, Patricia Carney and husband, Joe,
of Murrells Inlet, Cynthia Franks and husband, Jerome, of North Myrtle Beach,
Angie Alford and husband, Chris, of Conway, Jenny Cooper and husband, Johnny,
of Conway; 11 grandchildren, Donald James, Katie, Joanne, Bakur, Josie,
Ryan, Brittany, Holly, Kayla, Christa, Ben; a great-grand child, Lyla; a
son-in-law, Colonel Donald Hansen of Panama City, Fla. and a sister-in-law, Laverne
Furlough of Myrtle Beach.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005 at Lakewood
Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Wally Evans and Tim McKenzie
officiating. Burial will follow in Oceanwoods Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral
Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday
at the funeral home.
