CONWAY | Jack Vernon Taylor, age 81, of Lakeside Dr., died Friday, Sept. 16,
2005 at Conway Medical Center following an illness.
Mr. Taylor was born in Conway, S.C., a son of the late James Walter Taylor
Sr. and Sallie Gasque Eaddy Taylor. He was a member of First United Methodist
Church where he attended The Hut Bible Class. Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Army
Veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theatre. He was a member of Conway
Masonic Lodge #65 AFM for over 50 years. Mr. Taylor was co-owner of Conway
Hardware. He was predeceased by one brother and five sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee Poston Taylor of Conway; two sons, W. Frank
Taylor and his wife, Pat, and Dan W. Taylor, all of Conway; two daughters,
Lee T. Colhoun and her husband, Bruce, of Raleigh, N.C., and Sally J. Taylor
of Charleston; three grandchildren, Jackie Taylor, Andrew Colhoun, and Barrett
Colhoun; three sisters, Lalla T. Sutton of Sumter, Libby T. Cox of Columbia,
and Carolyn T. Bailey, of Wilmington, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from First United
Methodist Church of Conway with the Rev. Carl Harris and the Rev. Ben Barnett
officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral
Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from
6 until 8 p.m. Saturday.
