Your Schwartz story sounds interesting, here is mine--not sure if our Schwartz' could be related--
Our GGrandmother, Ella Schwartz is rather a mystery lady. She was in Titusville PA when she had our grandfather, Clyde Raymond Schwartz about 1893-4. We don't know if she ever actually married "Mr" Schwartz (who may have been from Germany--or maybe Ella was from Germany--conflicting stories, here). Mom seems to think Ella's family name was Kreiner, but Mom's memory is not that good. Could be a long shot, but Keller and Kreiner both start with the letter K. Ella went by Schwartz/Swartz. We don't know if they were German or Jewish. By 1900, Ella, Clyde and a half brother Harold were in Buffalo NY at St Mary's Maternity Hospital/Infant Assylum. Harold's real father's name, we think, is White (she was not married to him, either). The 1910 census said there were 2 other children born to Ella, but not living(?). Ella may have worked taking care of children, either privately, or in an institution. We think by the 1930's she was an invalid in an indigent home in Philadel!
phia and probably died there.
