Hello,

Does anyone have any information on The Nelson Plantation that existed near
Beaver Creek? I am trying to determine whether my Porterfield family had
ties to this family.

I am in the early stages of gathering information and do not have much to go
on. It appears that my husband's gggrandfather, HEnry Porterfield bought a
large tract of land near this plantation. The deed claims that he bought it
from a Rachel Bernhardt(?). I am still trying to discern details as the
handwriting is very tiny.
THe transaction took place in 1874.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
