Bonnie, I saw your recent posting indicating that you are descended from
Allen Ammmons of Marlboro. If you should ever run into a contemporary of
his named Martha Ammons I would love to know. My ggrandfather had a
brother Roberson H. Hays who is supposed to have married a Martha
Ammons--around 1860. The wife Martha was apparently born around 1838. She
and Roberson had a couple of children before his death in the Civil War. I
think, but I am not sure at all, that Martha may have married Robert
McLendon, after the death of her first husband. I haven't been able to
support the Ammons name for Martha, but that is what I was told. I don't
see an Ammons posting often and thought I should ask. Martha and Roberson
would have lived in the area where Marlboro and old Marion Counties come
