Doug, a couple of months ago at a flea market I bought a collection of
love letters written by Lydia Person of Morganton NC to her fiance Angus
Ray of Fayetteville. Don't have them right here in front of me, but I
think there are 32 letters written over a couple of years in the 1870s.
Captain Ray had lost a leg in the Civil War. I believe he was practicing
law in Fayetteville. -------Jo H.
