Pine Bluff Cemetery in Upper Georgetown County SC was established as early as
1876, along with Pine Bluff Methodist Church by the BEATY and GRISWOLD
families. The church, unused since the early 1900s and badly deteriorated, was
torn down in 1969 and the cemetery placed in the care of Pine Bluff Cemetery
Association which administers and maintains it. Pine Bluff Cemetery
Association is a non-profit organization chartered in the state of South
Carolina.

There are several broken stones that need to be repaired and one wooden maker
that we need to replace with something more permanent. The broken stones are:

Charlotte Burroughs, May 9, 1827 - Mar. 12, 1900

Orilo Gertrude Beaty, June 23, 1874 - Mar. 19, 1876

Orilo L. Beaty, Nov. 28, 1847 - July 24, 1883

Amelea Louisa Harllee, 1877 - 1883

Many of the families no longer live in the immediate area and do not exhibit a
great amount of interest. Resources for the cemetery maintenance have been
provided by less than a dozen individuals. I am making this information
available in the hope family members or other individuals will want to
contribute to the repair of the broken stones or to the general care of the
cemetery. This inventory is about 12 months old.
