The late Mae Bell Lane was dau of Rufus L. Lane, b.5/12/1883-d.12/2/1946 and
Carolyn Drucilla"Carrie" Lane,b.3/18/1889-d.2/2/1954 also buried at Magnolia
Cemetery, Latta, S.C.
Rufus L. Lane was the son of Chapman Crawford Lane, b.1/18/1868-d.Apr.1929,
and Ira Amanda Huggins Lane, b.Oct.1867-d.1930
Carolyn Drucilla Lane was the daughter of Alfred Pittman Lane, b.1863-d.
abt.1919
and Rebecca Floyd, b.1864-d.year unknown
John Milton Calhoun and Mae Bell Lane were married August 26, 1938

FLORENCE _ John Milton Calhoun, 82, formerly of Marion, died Wednesday, Dec.
30, 1998, at Wilson Medical Center after an illness.
He was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Dillon County, a son of the late Hugh L. and
Bessie Ella Bryant Calhoun.
Mr. Calhoun was a former manager of B&W Oil Co. and B&W Service Station. He
attended Latta High School and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He was first married to the late Mae Bell Lane Calhoun, dau of Rufus L. and
Carolyn Drucilla "Carrie" Lane.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Turner Calhoun of Florence; two
daughters, Johnny Lynn C. Collins of Marion and Elaine C. McCormick of
Florence; three grandchildren, John Gaddy McCormick, Christi Graham and
LeeAnne Wilson; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Richard Turner of
Myrtle Beach and Laney Turner of North Augusta; four step-grandchildren;
five step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Calhoun of Laurinburg, N.C.;
and four sisters, Mattie Pearl Fulp of Charlotte, N.C., and Lib Arrowsmith,
Doris Burch and Sarah McKenzie, all of Florence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion.
The Rev. Jerry Aiken will officiate. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in
Latta.
