Dear List,
Thanks for all the answers to my land question. <<<<ch states that Mr
James Crawford had transferred to him ... a Tract of land containing Four
hundred & fifty acres, situate lying and being in Craven County within the
Township of Williamsburg, butting and bounding to the South East, South West,
North West, and North East on Lands not yet laid out. 16 Sept. 1738. (19
Sept. 1735).
Could someone with knowledge of this acreage tell me if the above parcel
of land is found in the present >>>>
Answers were about equally divided between New Bern and Williamsburg
(NC). I take it this Craven Co in now in NC, which rules out Marion.
Now for my 2nd question. Does anyone know if the James CRAWFORD named in
the transaction above was one of the CRAWFORDs who migrated to Marion?
It is still my fondest wish to locate Mahalaleel CRAWFORD b circa 1802,
my g-g-gfather. Anyone with knowledge of his father/mother/siblings would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for your help.
Winkie CRAWFORD R
