DILLON -- Services for Georgia S. Daves, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2002 at First Baptist Church, 400 N. Fourth Ave., Dillon, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Kannaday's Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kannaday's Funeral Home, 1252 Highway 57 South, Dillon. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dillon; the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, S.C. 29202-7044 ; or a charity of one's choice.
Mrs. Daves, widow of John Robert Daves, died Tuesday, May 7. Born in Lincoln County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late John Burgin and Georgia Bridges Shytle. As a member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Daves served faithfully for years as a Sunday School teacher and circle member. She was a member of the Iris Garden Club, the Evening Bridge Club and a past president of the Dillon Literary Club.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Gary R. and Bea Daves of Columbia; sons, Ronald D. Daves of Trade, Tenn., and J. Blake Daves of Myrtle Beach; grandsons, W. Chris Daves of Columbia and G. Walker Daves of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Ruby S. Anthony of Salisbury, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
