MARION -- Services for Becky S. Lane will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at 1
p.m. at Latta United Methodist Church, Latta, with burial services
immediately following at Old Ebenezer Methodist Church cemetery. Officiating
Mrs. Lane's services will be the reverends Mary V. Teasley, Dannye O.
Bragdon and Dr. Phillip C. Fulmer.
The family will receive friends of Friday evening at the home, 6310
Temperance Hill Road, in the Temperance Hill community of Marion County.
Memorials can be made in Mrs. Lane honor the Project HOPE Foundation Inc.,
2131 Woodruff Road, Suite 2100, Greenville, or to the Ebenezer Memorial and
Historical Association, P.O. Box 400, Marion.
Mrs. Lane died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Providence Hospital
in Columbia after a short illness. Mrs. lane was the former owner and
operator of the Window Box Florist, Woodruff, and after retirement had
resided in Marion County with her husband where she devoted her time and
energy to her role as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and
caring friend to so many.
Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband, Theo L. Lane of Temperance Hill;
brother, Bill Stubbs and sister-in-law, Marjorie of Chesterfield; sister,
Jacque Stubbs McLellan and brother-in-law, Richard F. McLellan of Columbia;
sister, Lib Stubbs Steen and brother-in-law, John "Kid" Steen of New Bern,
N.C.; children, Theo L. Lane Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lisa Hyman Lane of
Woodruff, Dr. James C. Lane of Columbia, Robert S. Lane of Columbia; two
grandchildren, Master Rixon Barrington Lane and Colby Campbell Lane of
Woodruff.
Arrangements for Mrs. Lane's services is being handled by Smith-Collins
Funeral Home, Marion.
