(March 6, 1937 - February 28, 2003)



DILLON

Annie Ruth Hayes Owens, 65, died Friday, February 28, 2003, at her residence
after an illness. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday in the
Dillon Church of God with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper
Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral
home. Born in Dillon County, March 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late
Humbert Hayes and Leila McDowell Hayes. She was retired from the Dillon
County School District, a member of the Dillon Church of God, and was a
member of the Bethel Class. Survivors include her husband, Theo Owens of
Dillon; daughters, Patricia (Malcolm) Gerald of Latta, Gail (Andy)
Whittington of St. Matthews, Teresa (Jay) Lucas of London, KY, Wendy
(Lawrence) Wethington of Dillon; sons, Stephen Owens and Kenny Owens both of
Dillon; sisters, JoAnn Hayes and Shirley Strickland both of Dillon;
brothers, Walter Hayes of Dillon, Carol Hayes of Florence, Tommy Hayes of
Dahlonega, GA, and Paul Hayes of Little Rock, SC; 12 grandchildren, Natlie &
Mac Gerald, Jr, Christa & Andrea Whittington, Kelvin & Kylie Lucas, Morgan &
Corbin Wethington, Amber, Jessica, Aaron, and Sheena Owens; and 2
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde
and LaFon Hayes
