KINGSTREE -- Charles J. Musselwhite, 64, died Saturday in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Musslewhite was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Charlie Lester and Annie Louise Jackson Musselwhite. He was a graduate of Dillon County schools and the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. He was a retired State Trooper, having served in Richland and Williamsburg counties. Mr. Musselwhite was a Mason and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene Harrington Musselwhite, and a step-son, Chip Rhodus.



Surviving are two daughters, Melanie M. (Bruce) Brown and Carla M. Hyatt, both of Florence; a step-daughter, Angela (Donald) White of Sumter; a brother, Aaron Musselwhite of Dillon; two sisters, Betty Molnar of Darlington and JoAnn Morrow of Kentucky; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home chapel, with burial in Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2003, at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital in Greenville.
