SURFSIDE BEACH | D.L. Coleman Jr., 66, died Monday, April 21, 2003, in
Myrtle Beach after an illness.



He was born July 14, 1936, in Robeson County, N.C., a son of the late Daniel
Lyde Coleman Sr. and Lura Dean W. Coleman.



He was a graduate of Clemson University and an Army Reserve veteran. He was
a retired farmer from the Latta area and was a member of the Church of the
Holy Spirit.



Survivors include his wife, Martha Jean Coleman; two sons, Danny Coleman and
his wife, Dena, and Carl Coleman and his wife, Renee; two daughters, Debbie
McGarr and her husband, Marc, and Martha Newell; seven grandchildren,
Margaret, Daniel, Heather, Caleb, Bates, Emory and Marcy; and two brothers,
Robert and William Coleman.



A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home in
Dillon. The Rev. U.M. Beasley will officiate.



Services will be private at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.
