Michael Merchant

MT. PLEASANT - Michael Dean Merchant, 55, husband of Mary Smith Merchant of
Mt. Pleasant, SC, died Thursday, October 7, 2004. The relatives and friends
of Michael D. Merchant are invited to attend his funeral service, Saturday,
October 9, 2004 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel at 3:00 o'
clock. (843) 881-9293. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial
Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to
service.

Mr. Merchant was born October 22, 1948, son of Mansell T. Merchant and
Virginia Moody Merchant. He graduated from the University of South Carolina
with a degree in International Studies and Business. He was owner/operator
of Environmental Solutions Group and a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian
Church. Michael was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved to fish and was an avid
outdoorsman.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Smith Merchant, one son, Emory Michael
Merchant, both of Mt. Pleasant, his mother, Virginia M. Merchant and his
brother, Donald Carroll Merchant of Marion, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wachovia Bank, Education Fund
for Emory Michael Merchant, 529 Hidden Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
