I am researching the following Marlboro County, SC families: HAITHCOCK,
COXE, JONES, DEAS, GRAY, ODOM

I can research items in the NC Archives and UNC Chapel Hill Libraries. I
will have to fit it in to the next time I have time available; I can't
handle immediate requests.

Having researched in Marlboro County two years ago, I found the management
of the records in the Register of Deeds to be deplorable. The early records
were a jumble that they were apparently moving to storage without
consulting the SC Dept. of Archives and History. I hope that there is
someone from Marlboro County that can tell us that the situation at the
courthouse has improved. This is an issue for me because of the quality of
the microfilmed records that are available.
