My Grandfather William Jefferson Barentine 1909-1980 was the son of Sidney
Jefferson Barrentine. They lived in Holmes County Florida & Columbus,
Muskogee County, Georgia during their lifetimes but they were supposedly
from the Carolina's originally. Family legend has it that there was
intermarriage with Cherokee & Choctaw Indians along the way. A fellow
Barrentine researcher recommended that I try the Marlboro County South
Carolina area. So if anyone on the list has any Barrentine information I
would love to hear from them.
