Subject: Grave sites for Purrington and Alexander Rascoe

I am seeking the grave sites for Purrington and Alexander H. Rascoe.

Purrington was born about 1802-05 in Marlboro County SC and died about 1861 in Marlboro County. He was married to Virginia Willis who died prior to 1850. I am told that Purrinton might be buried in a private cemetery in the McCall area of Marlboro County.

Alexander H. Rascoe was a son of Purrington Rascoe. Of the four son of Purrington Rascoe who joined the Confederate Army during the War Between the States, only Alexander H. Rasco returned alive. Alexander H. Rascoe was born about 1837 in Marlboro County and died 31 October 1913. According to the censuses he lived most of his life in Hebron Township area of Marlboro County. He was married at least three times; his 1st wife was Parky McCauel or McCall who died in the 1870s; his 2nd wife was Elizabeth Carlye who died 16 January 1884; his 3rd wife was Sarah A. Gibson who he married 6 December 1885.

Any assistance in locating these and any other Rascoe graves sites in Marlboro County or the surrounding area would be appreciated.

James R. Rasco
