FLORENCE -BENNETTSVILLE-Mildred Rogers Hinson, 88, died Monday, Jan. 25,
2005, in Charlotte, N.C. She was born in Lynchburg a daughter of the late
Carl Miller and Maude Litaker Rogers. She was the widow of Frank E. Hinson.
Mrs. Hinson attended Coker College majoring in music. She was in accounting
for 20 years and employed in Columbia and Guaranty Bank in Florence. After
her retirement, she lived in Johnsonville for 15 years. She was a member of
Central United Methodist Church and had served as pianist for her Sunday
School class. She was a member of Leonora Chapter No. 30, Order of the
Eastern Star, at Florence. At the time of her death, she lived at the Avante
Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte, N.C., to be near her daughter.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol O'Dell (Thomas) of Charlotte, N.C. and
Lorraine Fueyo (Jack) of Cooper City, Fla.; a sister, Inez McInnis of
Bennettsville; a nephew, Jimmy Rogers of Lynchburg; and a niece, Cathy Evans
of Bennettsville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, in the Chapel of
Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lynchburg Presbyterian
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2
p.m. prior to the services
