FLORENCE -BENNETTSVILLE-Leonora Rene Sligh Commander died Wednesday, April
6, 2005, at Southland Health Care Center after a long illness. She was 85.

She was born in Bennettsville, the daughter of the late Charles Eric Sligh
and Sara McLaurin Sligh. Mrs. Commander attended Coker College and was a
member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was married to the late Joseph M. Commander Jr., and is survived by a
daughter, Sally Commander Heath (A.T. III) of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Joseph
McDonald Commander III (Carol) and Charles Sligh Commander (Betsy) of
Florence; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother,
Charles Eric Sligh of Florence. She was married to the late Asa Pinckney
Skinner and the late Frank Jackson Bryce.

A graveside service, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home, will be at 11
a.m. Thursday, April 7, in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will visit with
friends after the service at the cemetery.
