There was only one Martin listed as having petitioned for land in this group. If there were others, they may have had money to buy land and this did not need to apply for free land.
From Jennie Revill's book Protestant Immigrants to South Carolina, 1763-1773.
All of the following petitions were read in the SC Council on the same day (24 Jan 1764) and land was granted to the petitioners, or in some cases to the ship's commander to pay for their passages. In each case they were identified as Irish Protestants, lately arrived from Ireland. It appears that they all arrived on the same ship, the Prince Henry, commanded by James Eggers. They were listed in several groups, and I've kept the groups separate, although I've alphabetized the various lists by surname.
