I'm curious about the Patterson's listed. The only information I have on the
beginnings of my Patterson family in SC, is West Patterson, who shows up on
the 1790 census of Edgefield Co.
I have long thought, but cannot prove, that he is a son of one of the
original Irish immigrants to SC. There are two that fit the age group to be
his father, Alexander and James.
The name Alexander is common in West's grandchildren, don't know if this is
a clue or coincidence.

I don't find wills for either man, and no mention of West Patterson anywhere
other than the census.

Any ideas on how to pursue my search? I've been stuck for years.
Many thanks
Karen Patterson
