Dear Friends,

Hello! I have three questions, if you were so kind to help with my search for my ancestors after my grandfathers and grandmothers:

1. My first grandfather (who is an R1b) John Dymkowski (most likely Scottish name: Dymock) was born about 100 years ago near Warsaw, Poland within the Scottish-Dutch-German-Jewish district. He was an owner of a large land with a spa, and a real estate businessman. His most likely original area in Scotland was Argyll and then Stirlingshire, Warwickshire in England, then south of England, and Poland, and then his descendents (also some of his brothers) emigrated to USA. His wife was Josephine, also a Scotswoman (who is an H). His Y-DNA profile is similar, though not exact, to the Stewarts, MacGregors, and Campbells.

2. My second grandfather (who is an I1b) Stefan Gmurczyk (Scottish name: Gilmour or variation of it - the original Gaelic version was MacGhilleMhuire) was born around 1890 near Warsaw, Poland within the same community as above. Then he lived for a long time alternately in France and in Poland. Most of his many brothers (and uncles too) emigrated to USA and Brazil about 80 years ago and earlier. The most likely migration trail of his ancestors from Scotland was as follows: Isle of Lewis --> Sutherland --> Aberdeen --> Angus --> Edinburgh/Glasgow --> Yorkshire --> Wales --> France --> Switzerland --> Austro-Hungarian Empire --> Poland --> USA. His Y-DNA profile is somewhat similar to one of the MacKays. His wife Josephine was likely also a Scotswoman - her parents, large land owners, lived in areas between Poland and Prussia.

3. My grandmother (who is an H) Josephine Dymkowski (Dymock) - wife of John Dymkowski (Dymock) was born near Warsaw, Poland as a daughter of Agnes (Agnieszka) who was a Scotswoman. Her father was a Scotsman who came to Poland from England around WWI period - was a large land owner, and then returned to England just before WWII. Many of her family members also emigrated to USA about 80-100 years ago. We have many exact mtDNA matches after her with major Scottish clans (MacDonalds, MacLeods, MacKenzies, etc.).

Thanks much for help!

Best Regards, Greg

Greg W. Moore (Gmurczyk = Gilmour = MacGhilleMhuire)
