Hi there!

I do have ties in my family for Grant Co., WI, however it is a
different line. Eventually tieing into my Scott's but from
a distance.
My Faull line settled in Hazel Green, Grant County, WI upon
immigration from Cornwall, England. They were miners and
Grant Co., had much opportunity for mining.
On the other hand my SCOTT's came from New York to
ROCK CO., WI. I first find them in Bridgewater, Oneida Co., NY
1830 and 1840. The smallest town in Oneida.
My 2nd great grandmother, Almira SCOTT b. 1840, NY, probably
Bridgewater, married Isaac Newton JEFFERS sometime before 1860.
They had two children, William W. JEFFERS and Newton I. JEFFERS.
Newton was born 1867, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA.
He married Nettie FAULL, Nettie was born March 7, 1976, LeMars, IA.
She is the granddaughter to my Cornwall immigrants who settled
in Grant Co.
The JEFFERS came from Pickney, Lewis Co., NY and Watertown, Jefferson
Co., NY where Isaac JEFFERS was born.

Sorry there is probably not a connection. At least for now huh.

Sandi -
I see in the Oneida Digest that someone is looking for or has
information
that indicates they have Scott connections and Grant Co. WI
connections - My
g4gps had a daughter Malissa Carley who married a Benjamin Scott in
Montgomery Co, NY @ 1800. I believe that they lived briefly in Camden
and
then in Constantia for the rest of their lives, (her mother Hannah
Covey
Carley lived with them until the 1840s until she went to IL to be with
another daughter, Adeline), and one of their sons was named William
and
there seems to be some evidence that William inheirited a small sum of
money
from his grandfather Albert A. Carley when he died in 1821 in
T/Camden.
There were other Carleys living in Camden at the time, including a
daughter
Adeline who had married Ezekiel Cady.
Adeline also had a brother George who had a son Thomas. Thomas was
born in
NY State in 1812 and he later migrated to Jamestown, Grant Co., WI.
Now here we have a double connection - Thomas' aunt was married to a
Scott
who had a son William, and Thomas lived in Grant Co., WI by 1855. Much
of
Adeline and Ezekiel's family lived in Palatine, Cook, IL - a town they
named
for the Palatines of NY where they had grown up, when they settled in
IL in
1837.
Do you think there might be a connection?
