It sounds as though there is a link here even if by sibling? Perhaps
David Scott had a brother that also came to New York. If repeating
family names is one way to help, I can only assure you from Charles
Scott (born 1795), and continuing to my son, there are no names of
John, Horace or Frances. But that does not necessarily prove anything
one way or the other.
The Scott family that settled in Antwerp is not our direct family.
They are descendants of Gideon, also of MA. Have you researched this
Gideon, who I believe was a high-ranking Revolutionary War veteran?
You can probably find quite a bit about him on the Jefferson County
rootsweb site or even the MA Revolutionary War records. Also, since he
was highly regarded in the Antwerp area, there should be quite a lot of
information on him and his descendants. But again, like you, we are
also struggling to verify parentage.
I will certainly keep an eye out for any info that might help you as I
spend a lot of time searching Scott records.
We won't give up!!
