Dear Lois:

Hugh Scott who died about 1817 lived and died in Suatroagh Derry County,
Ireland. He was a Blacksmith. He had 5 children:
1. John who emigrated to Cincinnati, OH
2. Alexander
3. William
4. Jane
5. Archibald (my relative)

Archibald Scott had 3 sons and 3 daughters, his first son was William.(my
relative)

1. Col William Scott b 1743 Suateroagh, Derry, Ireland d 7/14/1815. Col
William Scott married Rosannagh Tait about 1760. Rosannagh was the daughter
of John Tait, a woolen merchant of Garragh Derry Ireland. William and
Rosannagh had 2 children:

1. John Scott b 8/11/1765 m Marcia Younglore. John died 5/6/1839. They had 2
children.
2. Lewis Scott b 4/8/1774 m Barbara Dalrymple. Lewis died 2/22/1866. They
had 9 children.
The 7th child was Charity Scott b 11/20/1809 and died in 1903. Charity
married Samuel Bailey 1/6/1831 and they had 5 children, Robert, Lewis,
Harriet, Ruby, and Marion. Marion is my gggrandmother. Marion married John
Burdett Easton and that's how I have my last name.

It appears we have different William's based upon the date of birth and who
William married. They were close by. The area my gggggranfather Col William
Scott was buried at the Bailey Burying Ground in Greenfield, NY.
