Surname: Rowling, Rollin, Roling
-------------------------
Hello, I am searching for info on my GrandFather and Great Granfather.
I got some info from a friend that she found on the Ga. soundexes. On a
Ga census for 1880 , it states that my Great Grand Father came from S.C.
But not where he was from. His name was William Rollin according to the
census in 1880 but in 1900 his name was spelled Rowling. Which is the way
my mother spelled her maiden name. Of course in 1920 William's son (my
granfather) had his last name spelled Roling. Does anyone have any info
on a William Rowling(Rollin, Roling) born Sept. 1830 in S.C. He came from
S.C. and moved to Ga. then his son (my grandfather ) later came back to
S.C. Colleton County to meet and marry my grandmother. My great grand father
was William and my Granfather went by Homer Malone Rowling. My Grandfather
was married a total of 4 times - 4th time to my granmother ,, Pearl Smoak.
Any prior info on my grandfather or greatgrandfather would be appreciated.
I am at a dead end.
Please email me at
Thanks
Marcia
