Eldon,
Following is the web address of the SC State Archives:

http://www.state.sc.us/scdah/homepage.htm

You will find the address, a location map, days and hours of operation, etc.
You will probably be coming up I-95 to I-26, so your best route will be to
exit I-26 to I-77 which will take you within about one mile of the archives.
The map will show you how to exit I-77 to the archives. There are numerous
motels in the vicinity - the I-77 and US 1 intersection is convenient. I do
not know specific motels - hopefully someone else will be able to advise you
on that.

Welcome to SC and good luck with your research. If you need to do any
research in Orangeburg on your way, you can exit on US 301 North from I-26
on the way up, or on US 601 South from I-26 on the way back to FL.

Joe Jones
Orangeburg, SC
