The book, "A Brief History of Medicine in the Spartanburg Region and of The
Spartanburg County Medical Society 1700-1990."by William Chapman Herbert, Jr.,
M.D. has a brief summary on Robert M. Smith, M.D.

There is a history of Enoch H. Smith and his sons Robert M., Elias, and
Albert Smith in the book."History of Spartanburg County." This article, mainly of
Robert M.,is long but I would be glad to type it in sections. My copy of the
book is much to fragile to attempt to scan the pages.

In my own geneaIogy, I have Enoch Ham Smith as being married 1st to Nancy
Cassandra, b 08/01/1803, and d 09/11/1847. His 2nd wife as Copa A. (no maiden
name) b 1806.

My information on the Smith family has been acquired several sources one
being, Horace 'Gil" Gilbert, and my own research.
