My great-grandfather, was William McVean. He came to Canada from Glasgow, Scotland. I don't know the year, but he married my great grandmother, Elizabeth Reilly in Hamilton, Ontario, in the early 1860s. They settled in Toronto, and had six children. Charlotte, Kate, Hattie, Malcolm, Frederick, and William George. My great grandfather owned a furniture business on Yonge St. in Toronto, for many years. He died in 1907. I don't know if h came to Canada as a child or an adult, or if he came with other family members. I would love to find out something, anything, about my McVean, ancestors. I live in Kingston, Ontario, but I'm originally from Toronto.
