Jenny

Sorry - no Malcolm McLaren (various spellings checked) in the index.

Good luck with your future research

Sarah

Hello from Australia.
I was wondering if there may be some references to my Malcolm Maclaurin
mentioned below. I may just miss out jusdging by the year you mention, but I
would appreciate anything at all?

From a Book on Tiree, Scotland. Duke of Argyll had a Chamberlain in Tiree
from 1801-c 1820 called Malcolm MacLaurin.Oral tradition there said he was a
Doctor and his Sisters house kept for him.

Many thanks Jenny

I have a copy of the above very useful, but rather rare book, and from
now
until the 8th of January, I have time to do look-ups for anyone
interested
in tracing relatives in the Kintyre peninsula of Argyll.

The parishes covered are Killean & Kilkenzie; Kilcolmkill & Kilblaan ie
Southend; and Kilkivan, Kilkerran, Kilmichichael & Kilchousland ie
Campbeltown; Saddell & Skipness, including Carradale. (It is important
to
note, however, that the Duke was by no means the only landowner in the
area
at that time, so tenants of other landlords are, of course, not
included.)

Perhaps the list administrator can advise me if responses to any query
should go to the whole list, or only to the person asking the question.

Regards

Sarah Galbraith
