I could not find an exact match among the Duke's tenants.

There was just one Alexander McPherson, and he was heading this family in
Dungless, Southend

Mary McDonald, 25,
Mary McPherson, 4
Catherine McPherson, 2
John McPherson, 1/2

There were just two Donald McPhersons, both in this family at 7 Main Street,
Campbeltown
Donald McPherson, 51
Mary Campbell, 40
John McPherson, 16
Donald McPherson, 10
David McPherson, 6
Lachlan McPherson, 1

Not exact matches, but perhaps they fit somewhere in your tree.
