Would you please check for a Duncan Sinclair and wife Christian/Christine
and also an Archibald Sinclair and wife (name unknown). My ancestor, John
Sinclair, was born on October 8, 1777 in Glenorchy, Argyll, Scotland. We
believe his parents may be either Duncan and Christian Sinclair or
Archibald Sinclair and _____. John Sinclair probably had a sister named
Mary who was born about 1775 as she is living with his family in Robeson
County, North Carolina, USA in 1850.

A John Sinclair was christened in Glenorchy and Inishail in January 1778 -
son of Duncan and Christian Sinclair. This couple may have also had a son
named Archibald. Another John Sinclair was christened September 26 1778 in
Glenorchy and Inishail - son of Archibald Sinclair. What would be an
expected time frame between a birth and the christening?

John Sinclair migrated to the US sometime before Jan 1812 so he may still be
in Scotland in 1792. The birth of an Archibald Sinclair at Lynches Creek,
South Carolina on January 2, 1812 is recorded in the family Bible . The
family moved to North Carolina by August of 1820. John Sinclair married
Nancy ___ , born in Scotland about 1785-8 and died December 20, 1863 in
North Carolina. Mary Sinclair died July 30, 1870. John Sinclair died March
7, 1865.
