Bill and Sandy

I'm afraid that I cannot find any William McTaggart or McIntaggart in the
index, though there are several prominent Campbeltown families with that
surname eg http://www.kintyremag.co.uk/1998/17/page5.html. (The Templeton
family, famous for their carpet factory, also originated in Campbeltown see
http://www.kintyremag.co.uk/2003/58/page6.html.)

And I'm afraid that there is no Martha Paterson in the index either. Perhaps
some other list members can help further with this family.

Best regards

Sarah

Bless you Sarah! Would you please add my request to the numerous ones I'm
sure you'll receive!

William Alexander Mactaggart c 1800 (maybe Jan 6 1792?)
married June 8, 1824 in Killean & Kilchenzie to Martha Paterson (born
1804?) William may have had a shoe business in Scotland

Believe William had a brother James who was a bank inspector and who did
something to merit an award and medal from the 1851 Exposition.

Williams and James were also friends of the Templetons of carpet-making and
may have some familial connections.

Martha Paterson may have come from Glasgow and had a sister Jesse who was an
opera singer. Martha may have taught school. Martha also had two doctors
in the family.

We certainly appreciate anything you can add to our knowledge of the family
prior to this point.
