Subject: Tiree Baptisms 1766-1854

For many months, Babs Humphrey has been working quietly away at the
demanding task of indexing all the baptisms recorded in the Tiree Old
Parish Registers, i.e. from 1766-1854. It is still a 'work in
progress', but she has made the early results available and these
can now be downloaded from the Isle of Tiree Genealogy website at
www.keithdash.net - at the Homepage click on the Old Parish Records
link. There are two sets of data: Tiree Baptisms 1766-1800
(excluding those where the child's father or mother is a McPhaiden or
variants of that name); and McPhaiden Baptisms 1766-1854. Each set
can be downloaded either as a searchable Excel spreadsheet or a
printable PDF table. Eventually the two sets of data will be merged,
but this will have to wait until Babs returns from the Tiree
Homecoming; at present she is somewhere en route from the USA to
Tiree. So Babs, special thanks from me and everbody at
SCT-ARL-TIREE, and may the sun shine every day!
