Greetings Friends. It's that time of year again. I received emails from Tiree's Liz, Gordon and Daniel re: Scot Trad's Music Awards as per below. Read on and vote "Tiree". I went through the procedure first to make sure it was user friendly. It works! Cheers, Scott

http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/musicscotland/celticroots/trad_awards/index.shtml < In a mere two months' time this year's Scot Trad's Music Awards ceremony hits Fort William. The first phase of deciding who will win a coveted quaich has begun - get your nominations in now.
Scott says > I could not get the "nomination" link on the BBC website to work, maybe you can, however, you can easily access the "nomination" website by going to http://www.handsupfortrad.co.uk/tradmusicawards/index.htm > "filling in a form on line" > http://www.surveymonkey.com/Users/99114790/Surveys/208562658654/106F95AB-AA58-4A34-9064-08BC50CC3CB6.asp?U=208562658654&DO_NOT_COPY_THIS_LINK . WARNING - be sure to fill out the form before you press "DONE". I went through all of the website pages without filling in anything and pressed DONE. I went back to vote and was not allowed too as I had pressed "DONE". There is only one vote allowed per computer. Not to worry, I am going to download a "Word File" form, type / save / email. Update > I was able to "nominate" by going to the BBC link after I tried later. However, just to be safe you can do it both ways if one does not work.

Hi All, Di made me aware of this award, Looking at it I think that we need as many nominations as possible which will put us in the top four. I would like to ask you all to nominate A`Bhuain Tiree Homecoming 2006 under (Community Project of the Year) before the 20th October. You can do this online at After this date it will be decided if we have enough nominations to put us forward for the award. Voting will then take place between 1-24th November and I would ask you all to get friends family etc to vote for us. This can be done at www.bbc.co.uk/celticroots Please get as many nominations for us from folks you know. Many thanks, Liz PS Skerryvore are also looking for votes Traditional Band

Hi Scott, I wonder if you would be interested in helping me spread the word about a Scottish traditional music award called 'Hands Up For Trad'. I believe A' Bhuain deserves to be nominated in several categories, namely, Community Project of the Year and Event of the Year. At the moment the organisers are looking for nominations only. This can be filled in online but only one nomination can originate from each computer. This prevents multiple submissions. I will be featuring this over the weekend on my blog. If you need any further information please don't hesitate to contact me. I would also appreciate it if you could circulate this to all our friends online who have an interest in Tiree. With very best wishes, Gordon

Hi Scott, Thanks for your support with the trad awards. Skerryvore are looking for votes in both the 'Live Act of the Year' and 'Dance Band of the Year' Categories. Skipinnish are looking for votes in the 'Album of the Year' Category for their recent CD release 'Sounds of the Summer'. Thanks again for your support, we need as many votes as possible!

Scott: thanks for getting on board with this one. Regarding A' Bhuain I'd suggest that when people vote they name A' Bhuain, The Tiree Homecoming, Isle of Tiree. I was thinking perhaps some would vote for A' Bhuain and some for the Tiree Homecoming and maybe the count would get split. So if the people organising this know that A' Bhuain and The Homecoming are the same thing there won't be any confusion ...Your friend, Gordon
