I've never heard of Angus being synonymous with Scotland - it's certainly
not given as such in any of my dictionaries. It WAS the name of one of the
minor Kingdoms of Scotland (Fife and Moray being others) - the reason the
title of the King of Scots was Ard Righ or High King was that he was King
over the lesser Kings (or Earls) of the minor Kingdoms. Check up on the
motto of the Earls of Angus - I THINK it means something along the lines of
"Angus will revive"or "be back".
