Your subject name Craik/C is the reason it is hard to trace this name There was a James Craik that was Doctor to Geaoge Washington. I was told that my great grandfather was a cousin to him. The story goes that when the borthers of this family went out to make it on their own that some changed the spelling from Craik to Craig. hope this helps please email me if you want further info
