The Donald McDonald I was researching was born in a teeny place somewhere
around Lake Cawdor, but Reay is close by. It was the Halkirk records that had
most of the births in his family. Some of his children were born in
Edinburgh, before he went to Ontario, and when he removed there he resided in what
was then called The Queen's Bush, or also called Chingacousy Township. Does
any of this sound familiar?
