Hi All,

Looking for any information on the Following McKINLAY family from
Prestonpans, Haddington

James McKINLAY born abt 1821 (In Cockenzie according to 1881 census ) he
was the son of Thomas McKINLAY and Jane BUCHANAN Thomas was born at
Tranent abt 1790 and died in Prestonpans in 1883 aged 94, Jane was
born abt 1789 and died abt 1876 in Prestonpans.

James McKINLAY married in 1840 to Agnes FORBES, Agnes born abt 1821 in
Prestonpans. James died 1884 in Prestonpans, at this stage have been
unable to find a death for Agnes.

James and Agnes had the following children - All born Prestonpans

Mary Forbes Fitsgerald b. 1846
Jane b. Abt 1850
Agnes b. Abt 1851
William b. Abt 1854 d. 1857
Isabella b. 1856
William b. Abt 1858
Archibald b. Abt 1859
Margaret b. 1862

They may also have had
Thomas, Alexander and James (Abt birth dates not known)

James and Agnes's daughter Jane married John BURNS in 1872 at
Prestonpans, John was the son of John BURNS and Margaret CRAIG

They had two children Margaret Craig BURNS b. 1871 (under McKINLAY) and
Agnes Forbes BURNS in 1873, they came to NZ in 1874.


Any help on the McKINLAY family would be most appreciated
