Hello Mary

I saw your post and I do hope we can find a connection somewhere. My main
line of interest is the GILCHRIST family but I can only see a
DAVIDSON/GILCHRIST connection in my family about 100 years earlier than
those you mention. I have numerous family members where sisters in one
family married brothers in another so hopefully this family did too - none
of them seemed to look far afield for a spouse.

My Jean Gilchrist born 16 November 1755 married either Thomas or William
Davidson and they had 2 daughters that I know of: Mary and Margaret but as
far as I know both girls died unmarried and childless.

The only info I have on Thomas or William is that he was a farmer at Early
Vale, a tanner in Glasgow and a tennant in Shiplaw. I'm not sure where
these places are but maybe someone on the list will know.

Other sections of my Gilchrist family were in and around Eninburgh. Do you
know when your Mary was born or who her parents were?

regards
Lori
