Hello Peter;

While I can't help you with your immediate problem, I see you also have an
interest in CUNNINGHAM.

I have been trying to trace any information on a David CUNNINGHAM, born in
Leith, Edinburgh, about 1846. We think his parents were James and Mary
CUNNINGHAM, but this is very sketchy.

Does this look familiar in any of your info.

Hi!
My Grandma's family are from the highlands, Duffs from Banff - But the
ascendances are interspersed with families of the lower parts of Scotland:
ELLIOT, AINSLIE, HAMILTON, CUNNINGHAM NICOLSON AND JOHNSTON.
At the moment i'm stuck with my no 3769 a Janet JOHNSTON of
ELPHINSTOUN/ELPHINSTONE who married at Prestonpans in 1606 robert HAMILTON
of
Prestoun.
She was daughter of John JOHNSTON, younger of elphinstone, a commissioner
for
Edinburgh in 1581 +1607 (brother of James, Laird of Elphinstone) and Isobel

BARRON(daughter of James, Burgess of Edinburgh).
But i can't seem to find anyhting more on these Johnstons of elphinstone.
Ideally I would like to have the ascendance of this Janet.
Can anyone help?
